Challenge

Our client, a leading payday lender, recognized the value and ROI from organic/inbound sources. They wanted to build an inbound engine to increase loan applications in a highly competitive digital landscape. To do this, however, they needed expertise across a range of skillsets and experience that only comes from implementation and management of multiple projects. They partnered with us to add this expertise to their team.

Solution

At the very get go, we understood that our client was not only in a crowded digital landscape, but also in a heavily regulated one. This meant that helping them achieve their goal would not only require quality, but also volume and pace.

We began by diving into the first phase of approach, tracking and status-quo analysis. The purpose: laying out the roadmap for success. Combining our client’s priority and past customer behaviour patterns with a thorough competitor research, we identified a group of sixty (60) bottom-of-the-funnel keywords that needed to be our focus, now and in the long-run. 

The second phase involved a deep dive into ‘winning content’ that was ranking. This helped us outline a content strategy and development plan that is designed to drive inbound interest.

 

Closely tied to this phase, and runnings simultaneously, is phase three that involved on-page optimization to ensure our client’s customers noticed and engaged with them.

Last but not the least was phase four: building domain authority. While the keywords, on-page elements and ‘winning content is essential, domain authority is crucial to ranking. And, building backlinks is necessary to improving authority. 

By acting on this roadmap with a lens of continuous improvement, we helped our client build a consistent and predictable flow of loan application submissions. 

Results  

This approach helped our client grow their online market presence significantly. They saw a 405.9% increase in the number of top five ranking keywords in the last year alone, a record high for them. As a result, their organic traffic grew by 53.6% year-to-date and online application submissions increased by 78%.
